About

I write about whiskey in my own way because I don’t like the way most people write about it. Most of what I’ve read is pretentious crap that sounds like it was written by snooty French wine snobs. Notes of this and that and blah blah blabbity blah. Funny how they all sound the same. Do real people even talk like that?

I write about what happens to me when I drink whiskey. And I write in plain, simple language.

I also like telling stories, so most of my whiskey reviewing takes place in the context of the stories of my own life. And if you think about it, isn’t that pretty much what whiskey is like for all of us? It’s embedded in our stories.

I’m always looking for unusual and rare whiskeys, like This one and this one. If you hear anything about either of them, I’d be obliged if you’d give me some intel. Along the way I like drinking whiskies that are bold, daring, and even painful. I like whiskey that does something in your mouth. Makes you slap the bar and say, “GOT DAMN!”
